Clarification on WIG’s Status with the United Nations
Issued by: World Council of Indigenous Games (WIG) – Official SecretariatThe World Council of Indigenous Games (WIG) wishes to bring the following important clarification to the attention of all members, partners, institutions, and the general public:
- >>> WIG is not recognized, accredited, affiliated, or partnered with the United Nations or any of its specialized agencies. We have never claimed any such recognition or endorsement.
- >>> WIG fully supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and other UN initiatives that promote peace, education, health, gender equality, and the preservation of indigenous cultures. Our support is voluntary and aligned with global development values.
- >>> No individual or organization is authorized to use the United Nations logo, SDG logo, or name on behalf of WIG. Unauthorized usage of UN symbols is strictly prohibited and may constitute a legal and punishable offence under international and national law.
- >>> WIG maintains transparency and integrity in all its activities. Any information claiming that WIG has UN recognition or official status should be treated as false unless announced through our official website or verified communication channels.
